A Day on Campus: Algorithms and the Future – UNIDES Project Implemented
Karabük University, Vocational School of Information Technologies organized a project titled “A Day on Campus: Algorithms and the Future” on July 9, 2025. The event, which was attended by high school students from Karabük and Safranbolu, aimed to raise awareness about university life and develop career awareness in the field of information technology.
The program began with a panel discussion on “Artificial Intelligence” held at Karabük University's 15 July Martyrs Conference Hall. In her opening speech, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Elif Çepni emphasized that the benefits of artificial intelligence for humanity depend on its correct and conscious use. The panel, moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Emrullah Demiral, Director of the School of Information Technologies, featured panelists Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrullah Sonuç, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kasım Özacar, and Assist. Prof. Dr.İdris Kahraman. The expert academics provided current and comprehensive assessments of the social and professional impacts of artificial intelligence technology.
After the panel, students were treated to meal. Later in the program, Tuncay Kayalar, President of the Artificial Intelligence Club at Karabük University, and his team guided our guest students, introducing them to various departments and explaining university life in both academic and social areas. This gave students the opportunity to explore the campus with excitement and interest in the university environment.
The event, which lasted throughout the day, was followed with interest by high school students and was met with great satisfaction.
