Program Content

This program aims to be a modern educational program tailored to meet the current needs of the creative industries. Its purpose is to equip students with modern game development technologies and prepare them for a successful career in the game industry. The program aims to train students as professionals specialized in technology by providing them with skills to understand, design, develop, and manage modern information technologies and artificial intelligence within the scope of game development and programming. It adopts a learning-by-doing approach, not only providing theoretical knowledge but also practical experience. This approach is intended to enhance students' abilities to solve real-world problems, gain industrial experience, and be better prepared for the business world.

History
The proposal by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to establish a Vocational School of Information Technologies within higher education institutions was reviewed at the General Assembly of Higher Education on April 18, 2024. In accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, amended by Law No. 2880, and Additional Article 30 of Law No. 2809, the proposal was approved, and our Vocational School was established. Our program is one of the three programs opened with the foundation of the Vocational School of Information Technologies.

Degree Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to an Associate Degree in Game Development and Programming.
 

Admission Requirements
Admission to this program is carried out through the national university entrance exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), in accordance with the rules established by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Following the application for preferred academic programs, ÖSYM places students into the departments they prefer based on their scores from the university entrance exam.

International student registration for this program can be done following the evaluation of direct applications to Karabük University.

Transfer to Higher-Level Programs
Students who successfully graduate from this program may transfer to undergraduate programs in their field through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM. Graduation Requirements
To graduate from this associate degree program, students must:

  • Pass all courses in the program curriculum and accumulate at least 120 ECTS credits,
  • Achieve a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00,
  • Complete a 30-day internship.

Assessment and Evaluation
Exam assessment and evaluation procedures are conducted under Karabük University's "Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations."
